Studio portrait of Addison L. and Bird Crawford Hockett, early pioneers of Eagle County. He married Birdie Crawford on November 22, 1898. They lived in Gypsum and had six children. Addison's father, Barclay Hockett, first settled on the mouth of Brush Creek in 1882, in an area now known as Hockett Gulch. Barclay Hockett was Eagle's first postmaster. Studio portrait of Edith and Louis A. Fenno, most likely a wedding portrait.
Edith Nilson and Louis Alton Fenno were raised and married in Leadville, Colorado. In 1910, they moved to Squaw Creek and in 1912, Fenno filed on a homestead there. They had three children: Mary, Ida and Louis C. Fenno. Louis died on Feb. 17, 1961; Edith died on Mar. 6, 1973.

Studio portrait of Jesse Sherman and Gertrude Miller Sherman. They were married in Leadville in 1897. Gertrude Sherman was Jim Nimon's aunt.
"Mr. Sherman and his younger brother, George, owned and operated the Sherman Brothers Dairy and Feed Store in Leadville from 1890 to 1900. In 1901 they purchased the cattle ranch on the Eagle River four miles above Eagle, which was known for many years as the Sherman Brothers Ranch. They were outstanding pioneers...

"Elizabeth Ann Brock was born of Martha and George Brock at Macon City, Mo., Aug. 24, 1854....She was united in marriage to Mathew Moore Dec. 24, 1875. Mr. Moore preceded her in death in 1920.
In 1889, with her family, Mrs. Moore moved to Wolcott, Colo., where the family was raised....During her active years, Mrs. Moore was one of the women who took an active part in all of the affairs...

Chet and Ruth Mayer on their 55th wedding anniversary, May 22, 1984. "Chet was one of the first members of the Eagle County Historical Society and a member of the local Cattlemen's Association." -- Eagle Valley Enterprise March 26, 1992
William and Cora Mayer, Chet's parents, ran the Mayer Ranch before Chet inherited it. That area is now the Eagle Ranch subdivision of Eagle, Colorado.
